Congrats to John Crisham of C&H, and Dominic Draye and Dave Coulson of Greenberg Traurig LLP, for their victory last week in Renfro v. Champion Petfoods USA, Inc., __ F.4th __ (10th Cir. 2022).
The team successfully defended the district court’s dismissal of a putative class action, in which the named plaintiffs had alleged that the client’s dog and cat food packaging was false and misleading. The team argued that the challenged labeling was either not false or was inactionable puffery, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit unanimously agreed.
Before he founded C&H, John drafted Champion’s appellate briefing with able assistance from Dave Coulson. After John left Greenberg for C&H, Dominic Draye, John's previous colleague from both Greenberg and their previous firm in Washington, D.C., presented oral argument in the Tenth Circuit.
At C&H, John continues to offer clients the same diligence and value he brought to the Champion Petfoods appeal.
